Xavier studied graphic design in Barcelona and London before graduating from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam in 2008. In 2009, he set up a book making workshop at the art academy and has been running it ever since, twice a week.
Besides working as a freelance graphic designer, he also worked on commissions for studios like Mevis & van Deursen or Mauren Mooren, and for agencies like TBWA or *S,C,P,F…
With time, most of Xavier’s practice has turned towards editorial design, and includes books for artists like Ruth van Beek, Carlos Amorales and Cristina de Middel.
He’s conducted workshops around photography books in The Hague (NL) and in Saint Petersburg (RU).
In 2012 he started his own publishing house—a small, independent project called Centerfold Editions, aiming to focus on artist’s multiples, short-run editions and specific printed matter. Centerfold Editions works in close collaboration with artists throughout the editing and design stages, and outsources high-end collaborators for its (re)production means.
